Climate Change, And How It Affects Us.
Let’s start off with Global Warming. What is Global Warming? Global Warming is a world-wide crisis that is happening as we speak. It is a gradual increase in the average temperature of our Earth’s atmosphere. The reason behind all of this is because the energy or heat from the sun enters our atmosphere, but cannot leave, and is trapped. According to Nasa’s module and graphs, we can see that the Earth’s temperature has been rising drastically, faster than any time in previous history.
Now let’s move on to Climate Change. Climate Change, in short terms, is basically when there is a change in the ‘average’ climate. But one problem would lead to another, and end up making a bunch of cobwebs and messing up the entire world. For example, the rising temperature of the Pacific feeds typhoons which blow harder, drop more rain and cause more damage, but also shifts global ocean currents that melt Antarctica ice which slowly makes sea level rise until New York will be underwater. See, with just the temperature of the Pacific can end up making the sea level rise, resulting in many cities and even countries to ending up underwater.

Here is a simple ‘cobweb’ picture of what would happen if Global Warming happens. (Source: US Environmental Protection Agency).
Now let’s look at what causes Global Warming. Looking at the data, global warming caused by humans seemed to be all because of Black Carbon. Black Carbon are tiny particles resulting from the burning of fossil fuels, commonly called smoke. On the graph to the right(Source: EARSI), we can see the amount of CO2 has increased an insane amount recently. We used even more fossil fuels recently to make oils, diesel, gasoline, etc.
There are many impacts of climate change including rising sea levels, melting ice, hurricanes and typhoons, droughts, and many more. So what have we done to protect our Earth? First, we can save electricity at home. Much of the energy is produced by coal, oil, and gas. Second, we can walk and cycle instead of using our cars. Cars run on fuels, most of them not being so good for the environment. We can also recycle more. Electronics, clothes and other items we buy cause carbon emissions at each point in production. So we should by less of these to help save our Earth.
We have looked at Global Warming and it’s cause to climate change. Since we have also looked at how to slow down or stop climate change, we can take actions of our own. Let’s work together to help save our beloved Earth.
